NOTICE OF SERVICE DISRUPTION DUE TO COVID-19

Updated: 09:30hrs on Tuesday 24th March 2020:

Unfortunately, due to the current outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), all of our groups are now closed until further notice, and our office team members are now working remotely from home.

This includes Hub Groups, Out & About Sessions, Friends Community Care Farm, OFR Info Group, Childrens’ Centre Groups, Cookery Groups, FortKnights Social Groups and Carers Trips (with the exception of Bury St Edmunds Carers Trip at this time).

One to One Befrienders are asked NOT to visit their linked friends for the foreseeable future, but we do ask you to connect with them via social media, letters, texts, phone calls etc., to help address the problem of loneliness and isolation at this time

Our staff team are now working from home so the office is currently unattended. If you are feeling lonely or isolated please do give your local Co-Ordinator a call on their work number detailed below, and we will do our best to find someone for you to connect with while our services remain closed. This includes Hub Groups, Out & About Sessions, Friends Community Care Farm, OFR Info Group, Childrens’ Centre Groups, Cookery Groups, FortKnights Social Groups and Carers Trips (except Bury St Edmunds).

NOTICE OF SERVICE DISRUPTION DUE TO COVID-19

Unfortunately, due to the current outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) some of our groups and/or services have been affected.

As of 12:15pm on Tuesday 17th March, we can advise the following changes to our service provision;

CANCELLED

  • ALL Out & About Sessions in all areas (this is based on the government’s advice to avoid public areas) CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

  • Lowestoft Hub Group - FRIDAYS -Salvation Army Hall is CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

  • Leiston (Haverhill) Cookery Club - WEDNESDAYS - Leiston Community Centre is CLOSED FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

  • Childrens’ Centre Groups - Hadleigh and Sudbury - MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

  • OFR Info Drop In - Old Foundry Road, Ipswich - ALTERNATE WEDNESDAYS - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

  • FORTKNIGHTS (BURY ST EDMUNDS) - all sessions as based in public areas - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

IMPORTANT:

FOR ALL OTHER SERVICES PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ADVICE BEFORE ATTENDING ANY OF OUR SERVICES:

  • We ask all members and volunteers over 70 years old and those with underlying health conditions to follow the current government advice.

The following services are open at the moment (subject to the above government advice) but please check back here regularly as our service provision is likely to change regularly in accordance with government guidelines.

Sudbury Hub; Bury St Edmunds Hub; Stowmarket Hub, Ipswich Hub, Haverhill Hub; Friends Community Farm; Fortknights (Sudbury only); Sudbury Cookery Club (Wednesday 5:30 to 7:30pm)

All about that baste

The Befriending Scheme invite you to attend their new Sudbury Cookery Group for adults with a learning disability. This group will run weekly on a Wednesday evening from 5.30PM until 7.30PM.

At this group, attendees can learn to cook new recipes from all over the world and then eat together, for just £5 per session.
